What do we do?

The Redditch Youth & Community Enterprise (RYCE) The Town’s only Charitable Community Benefit Society is pleased to announce that it is has taken a twelve month lease on the REDI CENTRE in South Street Redditch B98 7DQ.

At the REDI Centre, RYCE aim to provide affordable room hire in a well maintained, well resourced, safe and secure building. Within which a range of community organisations can come together to offer a varied and exciting programme of activities for all age groups and members of the Redditch community.

RYCE has been awarded a grant of £50,500 for a feasibility study from Social Investment Business to investigate the sustainability and prove the need of the building. On a day to day basis we have a Senior Youth Group on Monday evenings, and a Junior Group on Tuesday evenings. All 10 rooms are available to hire. Don’t take our word for it, come and have a look around, see for yourselves and have a free cup of coffee in our friendly café.

The building now has broadband with internet access and Wi-Fi throughout. This is an ongoing project and improvements to our facilities are constantly being updated.

Redditch Youth & Community Enterprise (RYCE) was originally formed to try and purchase the Redditch Youth House but despite an enormous campaign by both young and old, including featuring twice on BBC Midlands Today, Worcestershire County Council have sold the building to a commercial bidder.

Redditch Borough Council have now declared that the REDI CENTRE which had been closed in 2010 was surplus to requirements. We have had the building listed on the asset register and have negotiated a twelve month lease with the council, during which time we can gauge if the community want such a venue and if it can be a sustainable community facility for many years to come.
