The Redi Centre

 
 
We are now taking bookings for the three summer holiday tips to Solihull Ice Rink, Waterworld and Drayton Manor which are for young people aged 12 to 19. I have attached a copy of the booking/consent form. We are also running five Driving Test Theory sessions for anyone aged 15 and over.
 
We have the Me Time Summer activity programme at the Redi Centre during the summer. Me Time is Mencaps social and leisure activity service and supports people with a learning disability to develop independency skills and make new friends. Groups are free of cost for the summer and will include Healthy Lifestyles, Get Active and Digital Media activities. The first session is on Thursday 11th August and the scheme runs for four thursdays with two different activities available each day. Heres what we have coming up at the Redi Centre this week and in the near future -
 
Wednesday 3rd August — Driving Test theory session for anyone aged over fifteen. Only costs £1. Come and have a go at the Hazard Perception and the Theory test on our computers. Starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm.
 
Wednesday 3rd August — The Good Times Club. Our new session for anyone over the age of 12 that may have a learning difficulty and/or a disability. Any young people and carers are welcome to come and meet us and have a look around the Centre. This session starts at 6.30pm and takes place every other Wednesday. This session costs £1.
 
Friday 5th August — Senior Youth Club. This session is on every Friday and is for young people aged 12 to 19. This session costs £1
 
Friday 5th and Saturday 6th August — Our next CRUSH course with both days starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm with a short break for lunch. CRUSH is a structured programme of group support and empowerment for young people in the age range 13 to 19 that are at risk of, or affected by domestic abuse. Could anyone that is interested in taking part or if anyone knows of a teenager that may benefit from these two days of training please get in touch with us.
 
Monday 8th August — Senior Youth Club. This session is on every Monday and is for young people aged 12 and over. This session costs £1.
 
Wednesday 10th August — Arts & Crafts session. 2pm to 4pm. Anyone over the age of 8 can attend on their own but anyone younger needs to bring an adult with them. This session costs £1.50.
 
Thursday 11th August — Ice Skating Trip to Solihull. This trip is for any young people aged 12 to 19. This trip costs £10 per person. Anyone interested should contact me on steve.ryce@mail.com or on 07982018952.
 
Thursday 11th August — First session of the Me Time Summer activity programme. Starts at 10am and is free of cost. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
 
Thursday 18th August — Waterworld Trip. This trip is for any young people aged 12 to 19. This trip costs £12 per person.
 
Friday 19th August — Our next Quiz night. The Quiz starts at 8.30pm and costs £1.50 per person. You can come as a ready made team or as an individual and we will find you a team to join. You can bring your own wine or beer and we will provide the glasses. The Redi Centre Cafe will be open for teas, coffees, soft drinks and of course cakes.
 
We have a new one day computer course run by Libraries and Learning taking place on Saturday 10th September with Taking Microsoft Word to the next level in the morning starting at 10am and an introduction to Excel starting at 1.30pm in the afternoon. We still have our Computer Mentoring sessions taking place at the Redi Centre where young people support the over 50s with computers and teach them IT skills. If you know of any over 50s that may benefit from these sessions please contact us on 01527 64461.
