Redditch charity receives grant from People’s Health Trust to help young and older
generations work together using the latest technology.
Redditch Youth & Community Enterprise (RYCE), the town’s only Charitable Community Benefit Society based at the REDI Centre, South Street, has received a grant of over £31,000 from People’s Health Trust using money raised by HealthThrive through the Health Lottery. The grant funding is for ten new computers utilising Microsoft and Adobe software. A Project Co-ordinator will empower the young people of the central ward and surrounding area to mentor older generations to understand and have hands-on experience of computers and the internet. To complement the new technology, RYCE has had high speed fibre optic broad band installed with free Wi-Fi available throughout the building. The new service will be available from mid January 2016.
People’s Health Trust is an independent charity addressing health inequalities across Great Britain. It works closely with each Community Interest Company distributing grants.
